ELI JUMPHREY 3D MODEL

For my game production project, in year 2 of my Game Art course, I was tasked with designing the protagonist Eli Jumphrey and later producing a final 3D version of my concept for our mobile game Colossal Peaks. I worked with the rest of the Tough But Fair team to create a concept that fit the setting and gameplay of Colossal Peaks, using their feedback to inform my design iterations. I emphasized the legs/feet, especially because of the main jumping mechanic in our game. It also served to bridge the gap between the lightness in being a mobile jumper and the gritty character/world background. I kept some of it within my texturing, following the proportions with grime, scratches and tears to relate more to the grit! If I had to re-visit this concept I would want to exaggerate him further, as the final scale of the character makes his detail harder to read. Striking the balance between his menu appearance, where he is seen up-close, and his appearance within gameplay was challenging. I could achieve this by making his torso and head much larger to help with visibility.
